I've finally come back to make this February post; it's been a long time coming.

January Screenshot Contest has only two entries from Rosey - - this will be extended into February
gamerupinc.net/e107test is still in the works. I hope to keep working on it, there is no aesthetic changes at the moment really
The TF2 server is on normal configs - - go play when you can!
The MC server will go through some sort of fix I need to concoct (most likely reconfiguring Bukkit), but it is still running

Minecraft and Bukkit are now on the same page for version 1.1, so we're back there. Also, I should have disabled the whitelist. Invite your friends! (If it doesn't work, get back to me, I haven't had much time to test it myself per se, but for sure I disabled it..)

Also, our Team Fortress 2 server is up to date.

What do you all want to do this weekend? Minecraft? TF2? Terraria? Garry's Mod? Posting in this thread would be great

Interesting Developments

So, it's only been about a week since our last announcement. To inform all GUIs of the recent events...

Shazril and I are working on a new website to possibly move to. You can track whats going on, and maybe throw some suggestions! We aren't too far yet, though, so don't worry if things look a bit unappealing.. until later, when we start working on it, and by chance it seems unappealing...
Rosey has brought the famous(ish) boardgame Risk! to our forums! The first season of this fast-paced action-packed fun-filling hunger-enticing land-grabbing alliance-making war-declaring natural-disastering (I don't believe that's a word)... well, you get the point. Check back with Rosey on the details for the next Season of GUI Risk! **
As per usual, I'd like to encourage everyone to get on Raidcall.. we've been staying true to that recently and the continuing of that would be awesome.
Post below on what you want this weekend's community night game should be!

Tomorrow is my return to school. For some, you're back already. For some, you've been graced with a few more days/weeks. And, for me and some others, we're going back/have been there already.

So, I've taken the liberty to finish up my backlog of things to do for GUI.

Screenshot contests updated, Roka won November 2011
Minecraft server runs server-side 1.0.1, Bukkit 1.0.1-R1
Minecraft server runs Multiworld and is now ~~PUBLIC~~** for the most part. I do need to collaborate with some of you to insure proper management of it all, so if you'd like to help please PM me via Steam.

Minecraft server for the most part is stlil shaky, so if you want ot help me I would greatly appreciate it, and moving forward as well.

Also, after playing some TF2 Lobby, I've started to think that maybe the best way to get our IP around is to use our server for some TF2 lobby matches, that way people end up finding the server on their histories.. If not, it at least puts our server to use.. thoughts?

Hey everyone. I've been talking with some GUIs and we're pretty much getting ready for 2012 and aiming to get as far as possible in planning. That's included the clearing out of inactive members in this Steam group as well as trying to find ways in which to encourage more activity in the community!

One of the main things we've came up with is to encourage the use of communication as much as possible. We have our forums, Raidcall server, and we do have our Steam chat (which we are debating on using more). I really hope to see GUI using our resources a bit more; lobbying for the 100 slots on the Raidcall server was a big thing when we got it...

Other than that, for tomorrow (New Years) we will be emphasizing the play of the Left 4 Dead franchise! Meaning, those with L4D1 and/or L4D2, get ready to play tomorrow! Versus is probably the name of the game if we get enough people to play. If not, we'll just play what we can...

Other than that, again - please try to communicate with us! Really, it will go far to pushing us in the direction in which we all probably wish to go in.

TF2 leading 'til 2012

Hey everyone! Hopefully everyone is getting back to normal mode after your hopefully great holiday Christmas!

So, hoping to get things moving again here, I'd like to try and play on our server (or well, if we have to, another) daily until time runs out and this winter break is over...

Also, on the evening of December 31st, I hope to have us assembled for a community event, most likely either A) A different game mode on TF2, B) Normal TF2 with birthday gibs enabled or C) A different game event; please post below on what you'd prefer!

Let's bring in the New Year with style, hopefully!

If you were online, you read the announcement already.

But, since today is Christmas, there are Steam achievements to be had, and some of you (including me, probably) will be enjoying the holiday with family, there is a low chance of an event today/tonight. Our White Elephant event was yesterday unfortunately, so. That was our main event, so to speak!

If you'd like to have something organized, come join Raidcall! Talk with us, or listen to Carl who has opted to play Christmas music in a designated channel.

White Elephant 2011

We're on a new web host, if you experienced any troubles accessing the site over the last 24 hours that was the cause! We are on the VPS that hosts the Minecraft server so we have everything together. A warning - don't make any British 5 year old want to crash our Minecraft server when we take off the whitelist (soon)

Christmas is 10 days away. I did not notice that...

Anyway, we will be having a White Elephant gift "event". I think it's safe to say that this will not be as simple as an "exchange", haha.

If you need an explanation; here.

I suggest you all begin your present buying; anonymity is optional. On the day of the event, most likely the 23rd (Friday), I will ask for the presents and the event will go on!

To celebrate the gift of giving, I will put up a vote (click on the title to go to the main thread) for you guys to decide what kind of gift exchange you'd like to do.

Also, if we have enough people on Christmas, I was thinking of either a Killing Floor Hell on Earth survival on EvilSantaLair or something in Team Fortress 2. Events, events, events!

This Saturday, if you guys are okay with it we can attempt another try at filling our server...

Yes, everyone - I am seven days late. I apologize! I have news though - Skyrim, who scored a 9.5, got rated lower than Skyward Sword who scored a 10! (From Game Informer)

Raidcall usage...
I've been seeing a declining trend of Raidcall usage... let's get back into it a bit more!

Upcoming changes to GUI...
Symbols:
[X = for definitely happening soon]
[+ = for possibly happening soon, probably hasn't been discussed a lot yet]
[X] Minecraft server moving to Multiworld & lifting of white list (I will try the developer Bukkit if a recommended release isn't sent out soon)
[X] Monthly screenshot contests will now allow users to vote on 3 submissions versus 1.
[+] When a screenshot wins a month by majority vote (55%+), the screenshot submitter will be rewarded money-wise for his/her achievement.

Revisiting Terraria Tomorrow!

I will be away from home tonight again. I apologize, everyone. In my leave, you guys are free to either to play Terraria, go on TF2 (our server is up-to-date and running), L4D or any other game, I really don't have to say it. This community is mine as much as it is yours. Have fun, all!

It's exciting! This semester is almost ending, time for some winter siestas in the snow..

(what the fuck.)

Anyway. This week has been hectic, next week will be hectic, this weekend is going to be hectic.. (hell, I don't know if I'll make it to this freaking event...)

Let's calm down with the revisiting of Terraria, all who own the game, step up! There is a new version of Terraria with new NPCs, new Monsters, new new new! So, let's try it out for this Saturday's event! The server, at the least, will be hosted by me. If I'm not around, I'll keep it running, anyway.

Hopefully things will work together on this, it'll be interesting to fully explore the new update!

(For all those who don't have Terraria, I can either direct you to a live stream, our TF2 server, or just raidcall. Sorry :< )

TF2 Stats: Resetting this Saturday

Request your exceptions today, and I will consider them. (i.e. 2/5 reset, 1/10 reset) I will not consider too much in that regard, though.

Also, this Saturday will be our in-GUI battle (possible out-of-GUIs, maybe), either being a 4 team 3 man tournament or just a team on team splitting up who is available on the day.

I have no puns for this month, sorry. (Not gonna bother looking up any, either..)

Anyway, it's been a busy week. Midterms are a pain! This weekend has had me see a lot of GUIs busy, including myself, so in advance I failed to plan something for this weekend. I apologize, and I hope I can concoct something for next weekend in advance, though our resources are limited as our Killing Floor server expired this past week.

Straight to the point:

What do the asterisks mean?
Admins who have asterisks have joined the team on a the fact that you seem trust worthy and at least someone believes you can be an admin (basically, anyone who got a vote other than me).

This also means you're on a trial period, and you're most likely going to be watched. (lol charok, watched while they admin what?) Not only will I hope you don't abuse your permissions without a good reason (i.e. in a mutual joking matter) but I will be also looking that you do something with it. Filling the TF2 server, kicking problematic players, etc. Just being active on the server will show me you're up for the (sort of) work, if you want it. I look forward to seeing you seven contributing to our future!

In other news, I hope to have a Killing Floor event tomorrow, though I might be possibly attending a dance. What do?
